Keys to the Game
Hitting
Hitting a baseball or softball is one of the most difficult things to do in sports. The difficultly increases with each level a player achieves. The only way to become a consistent hitter is to learn the proper fundamentals of the swing and working on those fundamentals consistently until the player develops muscle memory.
We believe there are 4 fundamentals every player must master to become a consistent and dangerous hitter:
- Hitters must feel their proper load.
- Hands must stay connected to shoulder.
- Feet must stay connected to the ground.
- Their eyes must track the ball.
The Fastball Academy fundamentals are built through a variety of drills consisting of dry cuts, tee work, front toss, live pitching, and many more. TFA’s coaches will work with each hitter to achieve a strong understanding of these keys, e.g. how they work and why they work. Once mastered, our batters are free to simply react and crush balls.
